Job Summary
Job Description
As a Senior SDE Backend at Hike, you will be responsible for developing, innovating, and integrating new technologies and tools. You will also be involved in planning tasks and systems, looking for future improvements, mentoring other engineers, defining, architecting, and developing core gaming server components. Additionally, you will optimize code and memory usage for high-performance scalable systems, collaborate with product managers, backend engineers, and app developers, and work on systems impacting millions of users. You must be able to write organized code and be comfortable working on a complicated code-base.
Must have:
- Strong experience in backend gaming technologies and networking protocols
- Strong coding skills in Java and/or C#
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
- Basic understanding of distributed systems
- Proficiency in designing REST APIs with JSON and XML formats
- Proficiency in designing relational databases and schemas
- Proven ability to architect and design large systems
- Excellent communication skills for discussing design and timelines
- Experience with workflow tools like source control (GIT) and bug tracking (JIRA)
