Job Description

The Automation & DevOps CI/CD Engineering role at Trend Micro involves building and maintaining continuous build, automated testing, and release infrastructure as code for on-prem and cloud products. This includes developing automated system test cases, enhancing automation frameworks, integrating tests into CI pipelines, improving CI/CD processes, and maintaining existing infrastructure. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and active participation in agile ceremonies.
Must have:

  • Execute manual and automated test cases.
  • Enhance test automation framework.
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure automation.
  • Monitor and enhance metrics collection and alerting solutions.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate on defect discovery and resolution.
  • Setup test environments.
  • Understand and implement new tools/technologies.
  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Programming in Python, Java, C, or React.
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other public clouds.
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with Elastic Search, Kibana, Grafana.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency in Version control systems like GitHub.
  • Experience with Agile software development.
  • Experience in Linux, VMware, and KVM environments.

Location: This is a hybrid role based out of our Austin, TX office and requires in-office presence three days a week.

Position Summary:

The Automation & DevOps CI/CD Engineering role will help to build and maintain Trend Micro's on-prem & cloud product's continuous build, Automated Testing, and release infrastructure as code. It includes development of automated system test cases, enhancements in the automation framework, integrating the tests in the existing/new CI pipelines, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining the existing infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with cross-functional teams (Developers, Test Engineers) and create effective Test plans for various functional areas of network security products.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases of TrendMicro Network security products and SaaS offering from Trend.
  • Contribute towards enhancing test automation framework for functional and system test cases.
  • Design & Implement automation around our cloud infrastructure: build, test, deploy and release process.
  • Monitor and enhance metrics collection, feedback management and alerting solutions.
  • Active participation in agile ceremonies to plan and execute software test plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams in defect discovery, resolution, reproduction, and verification.
  • Setup of test environments in the test lab
  • Understanding new tools/technologies and implementing backend and frontend solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Between 3 to 5 years of experience
  • Programming experience in Python/Java/C/React
  • AWS, Azure or other public cloud service providers infrastructure exposure in practice or coursework
  • Terraform, CloudFormation or other infrastructure provisioning tools.
  • Monitoring and Observability tools, such as Elastic Search, Kibana/Grafana
  • CI/CD processes and tools (Jenkins, Jenkins X, GitHub Actions etc.)
  • Version control systems (GitHub)
  • Agile software development
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and convey technical ideas to a varied technical audience.
  • Experience in working on Linux environment, VMware & KVM
