SpotOn is seeking a Staff Engineer for its Payments & Acquiring group to build world-class, seamless, and secure payment processing solutions. The role involves working on high-availability, real-time systems that form the backbone of payment services. Candidates should possess a strong technical background in software engineering and architecture, with experience in modern programming languages. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, anticipate challenges, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Must have:
- Build and support high availability, real-time payment processing systems.
- Strong technical background in software engineering and architecture.
- Experience in modern programming language.
- Ability to work independently with very little direction, taking full ownership of projects.
- Identify blind spots, anticipate challenges, and prioritize work effectively.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Good to have:
- Django / FastAPI Preferred
- NestJS (preferred)
- Postgres Preferred

You will work on building and supporting high availability, real-time systems that are the backbone of our payment processing services.
Required skills and experience:
- A strong technical background in software engineering and architecture, with experience in modern programming language
- Ability to work independently with very little direction, taking full ownership of projects.
- Identifying blind spots, anticipate challenges, and prioritize work effectively
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant experience. (IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS, MNIT must) & only product work experience
Tech Stack:
- Python (Django / FastAPI Preferred)
- Kafka
- JavaScript / NestJS (preferred)
- Kubernetes
- AWS
- Mongo
- RDBMS (Postgres Preferred)
Job Level: Staff
Preferred or required relevant years of experience: 8+ ideally
Hours: Indian hrs
