Job Description

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers, facilitating alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing large-scale software solutions. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products, owning and advocating for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. The Core team has a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
Good To Have:
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture

Minimum qualifications:
