Activision Blizzard Media is seeking a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to join their Ads Engineering team. This role involves driving the next generation of their Ads Platform, designing and delivering scalable solutions across both frontend and backend systems. The engineer will have end-to-end ownership of product features, contributing to a platform serving hundreds of millions of global players. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying full-stack features from concept to production, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Must have:
  • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack features from concept to production.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, architectural decisions, and high-quality implementations.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability via monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and team retrospectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Java 8+ features and ecosystem.
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS, LESS, or CSS Modules.
  • Background in test-driven development and working in UNIX-based environments.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Understanding of web protocols, application servers, and web server configurations.
  • Passion for performance optimization, maintainability, and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy full-stack features from concept to production.
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications, architectural decisions, and high-quality implementations.
  • Ensure system reliability, scalability, and observability via monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and team retrospectives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Skills to Create Thrills

  • Experience in backend development.
  • Strong Java and SQL backend expertise, with a track record of building reliable and scalable APIs and services.
  • Proven experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React and/or Angular.
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and core JavaScript/TypeScript (ES7+).
  • Experience in designing cohesive full-stack architectures that integrate frontend and backend systems seamlessly.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Gradle, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and related infrastructure components.

Preferred Skills
