Job Summary
The Steel Inspector will oversee structural inspections and design development for new shipbuilding projects at a site in Papenburg, Germany, under the supervision of the Marine Superintendent. Responsibilities include maintaining Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) safety standards, budget/schedule adherence, coordination with various stakeholders (shipyard, suppliers, consultants, Disney Cruise Line), structural design review, inspections (steel, deck outfitting, surface preparation, etc.), quality assurance, material tracking, and supporting WDI on design processes. The role also involves assisting with other shipyard inspections and collaborating with the WDI Site Team during shipyard meetings. This is an on-site position requiring strong communication skills (English) and extensive knowledge of cruise ship operations and marine systems.
Must Have
- 8 years Maritime exp. or 1 year steel/paint inspection exp.

Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Marine Superintendent, responsible for overseeing the assigned structural inspections and design development for the new building site Team Lead special projects as project manager for Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI).
This is an on-site position in Papenburg, Germany.
Responsibilities:
Maintains Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) Safety Standards.
Help the Marine Superintendent to observe the budget/schedule for the areas under his responsibility.
If needed, will coordinate between the shipyard, suppliers, consultants and Disney Cruise Line Operations for all design developments in the areas under his responsibility
Responsible for Structural Design review, basic and detail structural design
Responsible for Structural inspections from sections to ship construction
When required assist the team with other official shipyard inspections, including but not limited to: steel, deck outfitting, surface preparation, paint application, firefighting, fire detection, navigation, lifesaving, safety, security, environmental and medical equipment and systems.
Overseeing the external block and structural equipment production
Overseeing the quality assurance activities, material tracking, alteration process, and NDT activities
Supporting the WDI on design process from structural viewpoint
Assist with the structural aspects of WDI Site Team during the official shipyard meetings.
Any other duty as may be delegated by the Marine Superintendent.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years experience in the Maritime industry or minimum 1 year experience in steel and paint inspections in ship’s New building projects
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills (English)
Extended knowledge of the cruise ship operation and marine systems.
Strategic thinker; able to see the big picture and make solid business decisions in managing projects

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
