Strategy & Program Manager - Regulatory 

In your role as Strategy & Program Manager - Second Line of Defence, based in Amsterdam, you will be part of a high-performing Second Line of Defence and reporting to the CRCO’s Chief of Staff, while also working closely with Adyen’s Global Strategy and Execution Team. The scope of this role is cross-functional and you will have two main areas of focus:

Firstly, you will be responsible for the strategy and execution of the fundamental programs for the five Second Line Functions - with a particular focus on fundamentals with the highest commercial and operational impact. As part of this you will play a leading role in both the strategy behind, and execution of, the fundamentals - including to influence and mature the ways of working between the Second Line and the Commercial, Operations, Product and Engineering organizations.

Secondly, you will play a key role in strategy development, planning and prioritization of cross-functional, Global projects arising in connection with Adyen’s Growth Drivers. As part of that, you apply your strategic and big picture lens in connecting the dots across Adyen, and translating Product and Commercial priorities into tangible priorities and focus areas for the Second Line. You will also provide ongoing support to the Second Line leadership team in identifying roadblocks and/or accelerators throughout the year to ensure simplicity, scale and speed of execution.

In this role, you are comfortable switching between big picture strategy, project management and hands-on operational execution, and you are genuinely excited to do whatever it takes to get things done. 

What you’ll do

• Develop a thorough understanding of Adyen’s Second Line Functions, and act as an ambassador of the Second Line Mission - Transforming Complexity into Opportunity ~ Powering Sustainable Growth. 
• Drive transformation and change by developing strong connections and connecting the dots across the Second Line, the central Strategy and Execution team and key stakeholders within Commercial, Product and Operations. You will support the Second Line to identify roadblocks or accelerators in our execution.
• Own and run key cross-functional programs from scoping to annual planning to to operational/technical implementation within the wider organization.
• Collaborate with teams globally to sharpen their planning and tracking mechanism in ways that create a healthy balance between providing structure and direction while keeping flexibility, simplicity and speed

Who you are 

• You have 5+ years of experience in managing complex projects or programs, (strategy) consulting, or held roles such as Strategy & Operations, Product Management
• You are comfortable navigating complexity ~ ideally in a product/ tech context; 
• You have affinity with the Second Line of Defence and have a high-level understanding of what it means to be licensed as a high regulated financial institution
• You have a natural curiosity that allows you to tackle difficult questions with enthusiasm 
• You have a strong affinity for numbers and live by an analytical approach in how you approach broad questions, plan execution and track impact
• You are an experienced problem solver who enjoys breaking down complex challenges into actionable solutions - and you embrace the hands-on implementation of those
• You are highly execution-driven: you apply your strategic perspective, connect the dots but also translate ideas into action tomorrow
• You have excellent people and relationship building skills that allow you to influence and collaborate with both senior stakeholders and colleagues across all levels of the company
• You are a strong team player and enjoy driving success collaboratively with others
