The Role:

The Studio Production Artist is responsible for creating print mechanicals, screen imagery and digital assets with Creative Suite, to be featured on all marketing communication materials for a number of markets globally. 

 

They will develop accurate and high-quality artwork for production assignments to incorporate in final layout, including the complete rebuilding a range of the clients’ products as required from Photoshop files and/or screen grabs with additional content (e.g. names and phone numbers in contact lists; email messages; photography), converting low resolution imagery into high resolution files for use in multiple assets and deliverables, optimizing assets for visual clarity set by the client’s standards, exporting assets into various formats required by the deliverable and checking the assets into a repository. The Studio Production Artist checks their work on various platforms to ensure quality, consistency and correctness.

 

The Studio Production Artist has strong InDesign and Photoshop expertise, web and/or HTML email production experience, and an eye for detail to implement content.

 

They will need to be able to work in a high paced environment with tight deadlines whilst still delivering work to the highest standards.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for building, prepping, localizing print and digital artwork files for release to production using Adobe Creative Suite software.
  • Liaise with Project Management and Print Production teams on print preparation.
  • While honoring the design guidelines as much as possible, responsible for the iteration and versioning of localized and original artwork files, solving for unique re-formatting needs as required.
  • Build screen imagery in Photoshop format, with extensive usage and application of "Smart Objects”, “Layer Styles”, and “Adjustment Layers”. 

  • Receive localization briefs and be able to convert an existing Photoshop asset into a specific language while maintaining the original level of quality and detail.
  • Localize screen files with accurate formatting of copy provided by WW team to global screen standards.
  • Image retouching for all lifestyle images and for complex campaign imagery to be used for a number of markets globally, to client’s art direction.
  • Adhere to an exact and established graphic production process, which includes maintaining consistency in font usage, color profiles, filename conventions, structuring of archived assets, and handing-off localized assets.
  • Update product imagery and UI elements in Photoshop comps and output web graphics.
  • Structure Photoshop comps to optimize efficient production design and localization workflows using slices, smart objects, and layer comps.
  • Work closely with producers, traffic, development, publishing, and international teams to meet project goals and ensure efficient file handoffs for localization.
  • Act as a brand QC/Guardian – always ensure brand guidelines, QC checklists and procedures are followed.
  • Memorize localization guidelines and actively be on the lookout for any asset that falls out of a given guideline.
  • Track and check assets using a version control system and ensure and manage the consistency of assets organized on the server.
  • Manage a high-volume workload, including multiple language versions.

 

 

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma (preferred not essential) in either graphic arts /production, design, print & digital production design and/or at least 3-5 years of equivalent experience at a design firm, ad agency or interactive shop.
  • Flexible, creative, solution-oriented individual with advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite’s InDesign and Photoshop, particularly adhering to graphic design standards.
  • Good knowledge of image and production specific needs for color retouching and image reproduction; including print, website builds, POS, Motion Graphics and email marketing.
  • Intermediate photo retouching skills.
  • Excellent design and typography sensibilities applicable to web pages and HTML email.
  • Experience with Adobe XD, Figma, Sketch and Git is a plus.
  • A good team player and able to work accurately under pressure and be committed to regularly updating skills through training.
  • Proficiency in macOS & iOS software is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to the company’s way of working after training.
  • Able to adhere to a consistent graphic production and checking process, while also identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, creative, and results-oriented with high energy and a positive attitude.
  • Accurate, excellent memory and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, creative and production environment.
  • Flexibility is key to this role as well as working beyond the 9:00-18:00 framework and occasionally at weekends (compensated for).
  • Must be able to work on-site at the client office when required.
  • Attention to detail and a strong design sensibility are essential, with a drive for perfection down to the last pixel.
  • Good awareness of current and emerging technologies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
