The Tax Analyst will assist with preparing and filing corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting various tax projects. This role involves preparing federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, calculating estimated tax payments, and ensuring compliance with tax laws. The analyst will also conduct tax research, prepare tax provisions, respond to tax notices, and collaborate with finance and accounting departments. They will stay updated on tax laws, assist in transfer pricing reports, and help implement tax technology solutions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate an eagerness to learn and grow in a professional environment and will contribute to the company's tax strategy and compliance efforts.

Job Summary

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Calculate estimated tax payments and file extension requests.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with sales and use tax, property tax, and other relevant taxes.
  • Conduct tax research and analyze new tax legislation.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions and financial statement disclosures.
  • Prepare account reconciliations.
  • Respond to tax notices and audits, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Maintain audit ready documentation and compliance calendars.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting departments.
  • Participate in tax planning, process improvements, and system implementations.
  • Stay updated on tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing reports and documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of tax technology solutions to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of corporate tax principles and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or coursework related to tax or accounting.
  • Familiarity with tax software and accounting systems.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Hybrid/office environment. Minimal travel required, usually locally, but could also include international. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
