Job Description

At Actimize, part of NICE, the AML team is seeking a Tech Manager, Engineering to lead a team of talented Dev and QA engineers in Pune, India. This role involves hands-on development, ensuring high-quality engineering standards, promoting innovation, and acting as an Agile coach. The manager will coordinate with various stakeholders to drive business results, mentor team members, and contribute to financial crime prevention solutions using advanced analytics and cutting-edge technology.
Good To Have:

Must Have:
  • Lead a team of talented engineers (Dev and QA), managing hiring, reviews, mentoring, and promotions.
  • Work hands-on with the team on development activities, ensuring high-quality engineering standards, including Test Automation & Unit testing.
  • Promote innovation, big picture thinking, and a larger business perspective within the engineering team.
  • Act as an Agile coach for the team, helping to keep the team focused on fulfilling commitments.
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders such as CloudOps, Security, DevOps, CTO Office, Product Management, PMO, Architects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/relevant course.
  • Over 12 years of experience working in software Industry (part of SW development team).
  • 3+ years experience leading a team of software engineers, working on enterprise products.
  • Technological skills and background in software development, including Java/Scala/Python, AWS, Cloud native micro services architecture, Git, Web technology (HTML 5 / JS with TypeScript / RESTful API).
  • Leadership skills, excellent communication skills (fluent in English), ability to influence others, great initiative.
  • Proven experience in operating within a global environment with remote management and working with Agile teams (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Experience with total quality management techniques and methodologies for software engineering.
  • Experience of working with Product company developing enterprise software is a must.
  • Prior experience with SaaS, PaaS and IaC development is preferred.
  • Experience working on a Scrum Team in an Agile delivery environment.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.

  • Lead a team of talented engineers – Dev and QA. Manage all aspects of people, such as hiring, reviews, mentoring, promotions, etc.
  • Work hands on with your team members on development activities and ensure high quality engineering standards are achieved, including Test Automation & Unit testing
  • Promote innovation, big picture thinking and larger business perspective to the engineering team
  • Act as agile coach for the team, helping to keep the team focused on fulfilling the commitments they have made to the Product Owner
  • Liaise with the team to promote good work practices, empowering the team to self-optimize their process
  • Work with the Director of Engineering to ensure that the team has the resources it needs
  • Ensure that any impediments to the team are resolved in a timely manner
  • Act as Engineering contact for product defect management and product support questions
  • Coordinate with different stakeholders such as CloudOps, Security, DevOps, CTO Office, Product Management, PMO, Architects etc. to drive the business results
  • Coach and mentor the team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/relevant course
  • Over 12 years of experience working in software Industry (part of SW development team and not support team)
  • 3+ experience leading a team of software engineers, working on enterprise products
  • Technological skills and background in software development, including:
  • Knowledge of software design (Patterns, OOAD)
  • Experience with Java/Scala/Python
  • Working experience with AWS
  • Cloud native micro services architecture
  • Experience of Git
  • Knowledge of web technology (HTML 5 / JS with TypeScript / RESTful API)
  • Leadership skills - experience in leading, coaching, and motivating people
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English
  • Demonstrate ability to influence others, especially in sensitive or complex situations
  • Great initiative: proven ability to tackle projects with a can-do attitude
  • Comfortable with working in a complex matrix environment
  • Proven experience in operating within a global environment with remote management
  • Proven experience with working with Agile teams
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with total quality management techniques and methodologies for software engineering
  • Experience with iterative or Agile methodologies and techniques
  • Experience of working with Product company developing enterprise software is a must

Must have Skills:

  • AWS
  • Java/Scala/Python
  • Leadership with business perspective
  • Prior experience with SaaS, PaaS and IaC development is preferred.
  • Experience working on a Scrum Team in an Agile delivery environment.
