Job Summary
Forcepoint LLC is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer III with over 5 years of experience in software development, system deployment, and troubleshooting at scale. The role involves designing and developing new features for public cloud infrastructure, debugging complex product issues, writing and maintaining tests, responding to customer escalations, and collaborating with global engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. The ideal candidate is proficient in C and C++ and passionate about continuous improvement.
Must Have
- Design and develop new features and maintain existing functionality in public cloud infrastructure.
- Debug complex product-level issues and security vulnerabilities, identifying root causes across components.
- Write and maintain unit and component tests for production-level code.
- Respond to customer escalations with effective, timely solutions.
- Participate in requirement analysis, estimation, and breakdown of epics into actionable stories and tasks.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams across different time zones.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of large-scale cloud services and applications.
- Enhance test automation frameworks across functional and performance domains.
- Continuously improve software delivery processes, including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
- Proficiency in C and C++ (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of web APIs and protocols (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS, DNS, HTTP).
- Experience with multi-threaded application development on Linux.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
- Proficient in Git and version control workflows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good to Have
- Experience with Go, Python, and JavaScript.
- Understanding of network proxies and security concepts (encryption, secure coding, web security, etc.).
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of virtualization and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience automating cloud deployments using IaaS and PaaS.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and scripting tools (bash, perl, awk, sed, grep).
- Exposure to enterprise networking environments and data storage technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, Key/Value stores).
- Ability to lead cross-functional feature development across architectural teams.

The ideal candidate is proficient in C and C++, with additional experience in Python, JavaScript, Go and Linux environments. This role requires a self-starter who thrives in collaborative, geo-distributed teams and is passionate about delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new features and maintain existing functionality in public cloud infrastructure.
- Debug complex product-level issues and security vulnerabilities, identifying root causes across components.
