Job Description

The post holder will be expected to be a highly motivated and customer-centric individual who works well within the team and aims to reach and exceed targets and standards set by the Technical Operations manager. You will be responsible for delivering quality technical consultancy to MRI’s HousingOne customers. Customer interaction will form a part of the consultancy required to capture detailed requirements and deliver services in accordance with the agreed expectations or contractual obligations. The role requires scoping requirements, developing and maintaining custom solutions, investigating issues, and providing solutions. There may occasionally be a requirement to work evenings and weekends for scheduled work, which is paid at overtime rates.
Must have:
  • Experience in Progress OpenEdge development or another programming language.
  • Hands-on experience in Web Technologies.
  • Proven ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to see solutions through to completion.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.
Good to have:
  • Understanding of Housing management software and databases.
  • Microsoft product support (Windows server, SQL server, IIS)
  • The desire and aptitude to continuously learn new skills and ability to learn quickly.

We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the London, Sleaford or Birmingham office.

About the role:

The post holder will be expected to be a highly motivated and customer-centric individual who works well within the team and aims to reach and exceed targets and standards set by the Technical Operations manager.

You will be responsible for delivering quality technical consultancy to MRI’s HousingOne customers. Customer interaction will form a part of the consultancy required to capture detailed requirements and deliver services in accordance with the agreed expectations or contractual obligations.

What you will do:

  • Scope the requirements for bespoke solutions such as third-party integrations or customer specific web portals, produce a Statement of Works along with clear estimates and ensure that they meet the requirements for all stakeholders.

  • Develop, test, implement and maintain custom solutions for customers, to allow a degree of variation in the operation of standard components of MRI’s HousingOne software suite.

  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Progress 4GL development environment, Progress Webspeed, Progress AppServer technology used in our browser of choice, cloud ready, ONEHousing application.

  • Undertake detailed investigations of issues reported by our Housing customer base and provide workarounds and solutions in a timely manner.

  • There may occasionally be requirement to work evenings and weekends for scheduled work, which is paid at overtime rates.

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in Progress OpenEdge development progress 4GL, webspeed / PAS or another programming language

  • Hands on experience in Web Technologies – CSS, HTML, Javascript, JSON, XSLT, XML

  • Proven ability to analyse and solve problems.

  • Good communication and presentation skills.

  • The ability to see solutions through to completion.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of Housing management software and databases.

  • Microsoft product support (Windows server, SQL server, IIS)

  • The desire and aptitude to continuously learn new skills and ability to learn quickly.
