Brightline Interactive is seeking a Technical Designer specializing in quality assurance. This role involves building reusable, scalable solutions on a spatial-computing platform, translating requirements into detailed designs, and validating tasks. The position demands strategic vision, software development expertise, and leadership in setting high standards for execution, quality, and documentation. The ideal candidate will collaborate with program managers to ensure successful project delivery within multiple government programs.
Must have:
  • Be part of a software team building reusable, scalable, and robust solutions on a spatial-computing platform.
  • Translate work requirements into highly detailed design documents.
  • Validate completed tasks against written specifications.
  • Minimum of 10 years in software development roles, with substantial experience leading technical design and QA efforts.
  • Experience with the complete software-development process, from initial design through delivery, following Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Demonstrated success guiding cross-functional technical teams, adhering to scope and schedule, delivering top quality results.
  • Extensive experience with DevSecOps, including compliance requirements.
  • Strong defect-triage, root-cause analysis, and performance-profiling skills on target hardware (XR headsets, GPUs, edge devices).
  • Experience in requirements authoring, design specification, and solution architecture.
  • Extensive experience with Software Quality Assurance, including oversight of software integration, authoring test plans/test activities and software quality metrics.
  • Extensive experience leading system design reviews, testing validation and requirements traceability.
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and configuration control throughout the SDLC process.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., computer science, engineering) with exposure to 3D and spatial computing technologies such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
Good to have:
  • Background in LVC training or digital-twin simulation programs.
  • Working knowledge of government software assurance and cybersecurity standards (STIGs, RMF, NIST) and their integration into workflows.
  • Understanding of UX requirements when building for virtual reality and video streaming ecosystems.
  • Experience implementing AI workflows.
  • Experience with USD.

The ideal candidate seeks a deep understanding of the projects they design for and has experience collaborating with program managers to ensure successful project delivery. The Technical Designer should be highly skilled and flexible in working within multiple government programs.

Technology Capabilities and Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years in software development roles, with substantial experience leading technical design and QA efforts.
  • Experience with the complete software‑development process, from initial design through delivery, following Agile and DevOps practices, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business strategy.
  • Demonstrated success guiding cross‑functional technical teams, adhering to scope and schedule, delivering top quality results.
  • Extensive experience with DevSecOps, including compliance requirements.
  • Strong defect‑triage, root‑cause analysis, and performance‑profiling skills on target hardware (XR headsets, GPUs, edge devices) producing clear, reproducible defect reports.
