Job Description

TransUnion is a major credit reference agency offering specialist services in fraud, identity, and risk management. We are seeking a Technical Finance Manager to manage compliance requirements, including external audits and annual statutory accounts. The role involves supporting the month-end close process, reviewing journals and SOX controls, and handling internal reporting for UK and Group levels, especially for non-trading companies. This position also offers opportunities to contribute to wider Finance initiatives, ensuring robust financial control and supporting tax management. A chartered accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is required, suitable for first movers from practice or industry professionals.
Must have:
  • Support management of the external audit relationship
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Support month-end close process
  • Accounting of the non-trading entities
  • Provide support to ensure a robust SOX control environment
  • Support technical accounting initiatives
  • Support tax management including corporation tax, international tax, R&D claims, VAT
  • Regular liaison with Financial Control, Finance Revenue Team, Business Partnering, FP&A, Internal Audit and other key stakeholders
  • External audit experience
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, complex environment
  • Experience of overseeing the production and reporting of financial accounts
  • Experience of tax computations
  • Technical accounting
  • Planning and organising multiple activities to deadlines
  • Ability to influence and persuade challenging internal customer client base and external contacts
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Clarity of vision and ability to drive change
  • Newly or near qualified Chartered Accountancy
  • Graduate calibre or above

What You'll Bring:

We’re looking for a Technical Finance Manager to join our growing team.

This role is specifically responsible for management of compliance requirements; such as the external audit and annual statutory accounts. There will also be a requirement to support the month-end close process with review of journals/SOX controls. There are additional responsibilities for internal reporting at a UK and Group level and provision of management information for non-trading companies. There will also be the opportunity to work on wider Finance initiatives.

This role requires a chartered accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and will suit a first mover from practice as well as individuals currently working within industry.

Day to Day You’ll Be:

  • Support management of the external audit relationship
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Support month-end close process
  • Accounting of the non-trading entities including month end reconciliations
  • Provide support to ensure a robust SOX control environment is in place and risks are appropriately managed
  • Support technical accounting initiatives within the team
  • Support tax management including corporation tax, international tax, R&D claims, VAT and internal reporting
  • Regular liaison with Financial Control, Finance Revenue Team, Business Partnering, FP&A, Internal Audit and other key stakeholders
  • Projects as deemed necessary by the Senior Finance Manager
  • Involvement in wider finance initiatives to constantly evolve and improve the Group Finance function

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • External audit experience
  • Experience of working in, or having clients in a fast paced, complex environment
  • Experience of overseeing the production and reporting of financial accounts, putting the necessary processes and controls in place
  • Experience of tax computations
  • Technical accounting
  • Planning and organising multiple activities to deadlines
  • Ability to influence and persuade challenging internal customer client base and external contacts
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Clarity of vision and ability to drive change
  • Newly or near qualified Chartered Accountancy
  • Graduate calibre or above

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a regulated environment (SOX/FCA)
