Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate across functions. You'll explain analyses to executives and discuss technical trade-offs with engineers. Responsibilities include setting program goals and direction, driving planning and implementation with Engineering, Product Management, and Engineering Productivity, managing dependencies and resolving issues, and owning project status. You'll also engage with leadership to streamline processes and improve team execution. This role focuses on cross-cutting AI/ML initiatives within Google's vast infrastructure.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing complex cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 10 years of experience with AI/ML technologies or infrastructure.
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences, spanning all functions and organizational levels.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $227,000-$320,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Set the goal and direction for a program by outlining goals and objectives.
  • Drive the planning and implementation of the programs and features, working closely with Engineering, Product Management, Engineering Productivity. Establish goals, schedule and milestones. Manage dependencies and anticipate/resolve execution issues.
  • Be the trusted owner of the status of the projects/programs. Drive visibility on progress, dependencies, risks, issues to the executives and other stakeholders.
  • Engage with the Product Management and Engineering leaders, and other Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to streamline processes, simplify execution, and bring tooling efficiencies, when needed.
  • Help the team improve and accelerate their execution.
