Technical Writer (Contract)

That's where you come in.

As a Technical Writer on the Wild Rift Shanghai team, you will help shape the quality of all player-facing text. Your work will ensure clear and engaging communication that improves players’ understanding of game features and gameplay. You will work closely with designers, product owners, and localization experts to create and refine text for both Mandarin and English. You will report to the technical product manager in the Shanghai office. 

Responsibilities:

• Review and refine the in-App text provided by designers to ensure it is clear, accurate, and engaging. You will focus on improving the language, maintaining consistent style and terminology, and ensuring the text meets the needs of our players.
• Work with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement in the text production process. Collaborate with project managers and software engineers to develop automations that reduce manual work and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with the localization team to improve the quality and consistency of text in both Mandarin and English. Assist in refining translation guidelines and maintaining a shared terminology library.
• Connect the designer team and the localization team to streamline the process of addressing localization issues. Provide timely feedback on key issues, such as IP compliance and cultural sensitivity, to ensure these are addressed early in the process.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, game writer, or in a similar role, preferably in the gaming or tech industries.
• Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English.
• Experience in managing content workflows is a plus.
