Job Description

The Field Service Technician provides first line support for Automated Ticketing Systems, ensuring efficient operation. Responsibilities include scheduled preventative and remedial maintenance on local/wide area networks, as well as addressing vandalism issues. This position involves autonomous work at customer sites, resolving technical issues, maintaining service records, and maximizing productive output. The technician must interact with stakeholders, follow instructions, report non-conformances, and adhere to quality and safety policies. This role requires a proactive approach to fault rectification and a commitment to efficient use of time and resources. The technician must perform varied technical duties with provided tools and procedures, ensuring an effective and efficient ticketing system. This position requires a good level of fitness to perform work in an outside environment for the prescribed shifts.

Job Summary:

The Field Service Technician provides first line support of Automated Ticketing Systems and provides a fast response maintenance service to all users throughout the network.

Responsibilities include scheduled preventative maintenance and remedial maintenance on local/wide area networks and vandalism call outs to ensure an effective and efficient ticketing system that operates at its optimum performance level.

This position typically works under general supervision and direction whilst autonomously attending customer sites.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders 
  • Perform varied technical duties involving the use of provided procedures and tools, including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets on either fixed OR mobile devices
  • Apply technical knowledge to problem solve difficult and complex fault situations
  • Report to supervisors or other responsible personnel any potential non-conformance or problems
  • Be proactive in rectification of newly identified faults and defects at site
  • Follow specific verbal/written instructions relating to work assignments
  • Ownership for quality of work performed
  • Maintain service records, vehicle stock inventory in accordance with provided company procedures
  • Resolve verbal end user and customer enquiries whilst attending to duties at all sites
  • Maximize productive output by efficient use of time and materials 
  • Suggest ways of improving methods and procedures to meet the quality policy objectives of the Company
  • Report all WHSE incidents, potential hazards, near misses and accidents 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

Minimum Job Requirements: 

Qualifications:  

Essential:

  • WH&S general induction card 
  • Unrestricted Drivers’ license with a general good record
  • Inquisitive and enquiring attitude to your work to help further self-knowledge of fielded products

Skills/Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Relevant experience within a field-based service environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of general MS office products
  • Some knowledge and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Able to perform a variety of technical duties, including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets
  • A good level of fitness to perform work in an outside environment for the prescribed shifts

Desirable:
