Job Summary

The Saint Francis Theology Department in Fort Wayne, IN invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions beginning August 2026. Job Description

The Saint Francis Theology Department in Fort Wayne, IN invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions beginning August 2026. The standard teaching load is 4/4 and faculty are also expected to advise majors, pursue research and professional development, be active in service to the Division, University and community and promote the mission, vision, and values of the University. While the majority of the faculty member’s teaching will be in-person, experience and ability in online teaching is desirable. The area of specialization is open and faculty will have the opportunity to develop courses within their area of expertise and interest. Rank and salary are dependent upon the appointee’s qualifications and experience. While a Ph.D. or equivalent is preferred, ABD candidates who are close to completion will be considered. The successful candidates will be expected to assent to all magisterial teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and obtain a Mandatum from the local ordinary.

Fort Wayne is the second largest city in the state of Indiana. It is home to a newly revitalized downtown area. The city and surrounding environs are known for their affordable, family-friendly atmosphere. The city is also home to a strong Catholic community, many thriving parishes, and Catholic institutions such as Our Sunday Visitor, Inc. The city boasts an ever-developing network of biking trails, nearby lakes, music (Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Bach Collegium, Sweetwater Sound) and minor league sports teams (baseball, hockey, and soccer).
