Turbulent is seeking a UX Writer for a 12-month renewable contract, working on a mandate for the National Bank of Canada. The role involves creating simple, human, and bold content experiences, specializing in user experience and microcopy for business banking services. The ideal candidate will simplify complex financial concepts, support project leads, coordinate content production, analyze results, and ensure compliance with editorial and web accessibility standards, contributing to a strong brand voice.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • 5-6 years of relevant experience in digital writing
  • Experience in developing applications and digital experiences with multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong writing skills for digital products (transactional websites, mobile applications)
  • Experience with the end-to-end user journey on a digital platform
  • In-depth knowledge of UX writing principles and web accessibility standards
  • Excellent command of French (written and spoken)
  • Good proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Must be located in Canada and possess a valid work permit

Our UX writing team is currently looking for a writer specializing in user experience and other short-form content (microcopy).

Our editorial mission: To inspire both our clients and commercial non-clients to bring their projects to life and contribute to their success by providing them with the inspiration, knowledge, and tools they need to make informed decisions and take action.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Content, the UX Writer will be responsible for content related to our business banking services.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Simplify the customer experience and make complex financial literacy concepts accessible for business clients.
  • Understand the features of our banking services and their impact on the user experience and journey within a digital platform.
  • Support project leads in defining processes and timelines necessary for content delivery.
  • Coordinate content production, ensuring deadlines are met and follow-ups are conducted for project delivery.
  • Measure and analyze results, identify key insights, and provide optimization recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with editorial standards and contribute to maintaining a strong brand voice.
  • Implement and uphold best practices in UX writing, short-form content, and web accessibility standards.

Your Background and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field, with five (5) to six (6) years of relevant experience in digital writing.
  • Experience in developing applications and digital experiences within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong writing skills for digital products, particularly transactional websites and mobile applications.
  • Experience with the end-to-end user journey on a digital platform.
  • In-depth knowledge of UX writing principles, best practices, and web accessibility standards.
  • Interest in finance, economics, and the business sector is a plus.
  • Creativity, agility, and authenticity.
  • Excellent command of French (written and spoken) and good proficiency in English (written and spoken).
