VP Engineering

Key Responsibilities: 

• Own and drive the technology roadmap in close partnership with Product and Founders

• Architect and build scalable, reliable backend systems in Java and Go

• Guide system architecture, drive design reviews, and ensure the team ships reliable, performant software

• Hire, coach, and grow a strong engineering team that thrives on collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning

• Manage performance, resolve conflicts, give timely feedback, and ensure engineers are progressing in their careers

• Evaluate and implement best practices in dev tooling, infrastructure, and processes

• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering projects, ensuring predictable timelines, quality outcomes, and cross-team alignment

Qualifications: 

• 12+ years of overall engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in engineering leadership roles

• Strong hands-on coding skills in Java and Go

• Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing startups or product companies

• Deep understanding of modern backend architecture, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), microservices, and CI/CD

• Passion for developer tools, AI, or productivity-focused platforms is a strong plus

• Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic leadership

• Excellent communication and decision-making skills

• The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of AI technologies, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs), and demonstrate experience integrating these tools into engineering workflows. Familiarity with implementing and leveraging AI/LLMs to enhance team productivity, solve complex problems, and drive innovation is highly preferred.
