We are looking for a quality assurance engineer to test different versions of the product (Zen) that is currently at version 15. The product is used in different embedded systems (applications do not expose the database product).
This is an intermediate level position. The QA engineer contributes to all facets of testing and validating changes made to the Zen product line. The product handles enormous amounts of data and can be critical to our customers’ missions 24x7. The person in this role will function as an individual contributor and have excellent software development skills and work closely with Support, Sustaining Engineering, and development. The person will learn the various test harnesses used to automate testing of the product as well as the numerous manual test cases used for test functionality outside the automated test harnesses. The person will also be able to debug existing test harnesses and test cases for defects found by internal and external users. The person needs to become an expert in how the product operates and be the first stop for detecting problems in product prior to release. Work requires exercising judgment within generally defined practices in selecting methods or obtaining solutions.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter with a get-it-done attitude who can work independently, learn quickly, and demonstrate initiative across assignments.
