Role Responsibilities You will be part of the core autonomy team and will be working on delivering the following: <ul><li>Identify and solve gaps in the current localization and mapping system</li><li>Implement, deploy, test and maintain new localization capabilities for the autonomous system</li><li>Research state of the art localization techniques and evaluate to see if it can be incorporated into the system to expand operating environments</li><li>Evaluate various new sensor modalities to improve localization and mapping</li><li>Build metrics tools to evaluate how well the localization sub-system is performing</li><li>Research, develop, test and maintain a calibration system to identify sensor extrinsics and camera intrinsics</li><li>Develop and maintain tools to maintain topographical map of the operating environment</li><li>Work closely with the other autonomy sub teams (planning, perception, infrastructure) to successfully deploy the autonomous system </li></ul>
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications <ul><li>1-2 years of work experience in development of industrial robots or industrial automation</li><li>Theoretical knowledge of one or more areas of autonomous driving: localization &amp; mapping, perception, tracking or overall system development</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field</li><li>Strong C++ and Python programming</li><li>Working experience with a Linux based Operating System (Ubuntu, Debian) and Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) middleware, OpenCV</li><li>Proven experience with non-linear optimization and various filtering algorithms like EKF, UKF, Particle filters</li><li>Demonstrated work experience with various sensors such as LiDARs, Camera, IMU, GPS, Radar etc</li><li>Highly collaborative nature and exceptional communicator with strong problem solving skills </li></ul>
Desired Qualifications <ul><li>MS or PhD in Computer Science, Math, Robotics or a related field</li><li>2-3 years of work experience in development of industrial robots or industrial automation</li><li>In-Depth understanding of middleware frameworks like ROS/ROS2</li><li>Proven experience with factor graphs and graph slam algorithms</li><li>Proven experience with non linear solvers like Ceres, GTSAM, g2o</li><li>Proven track record of system development and successful deployment of unmanned systems in existing or upcoming products</li><li>Mastery of Modern C++ (14 and beyond) and safety critical coding practices</li><li>Proven experience with open source algorithms/software like google cartographer, slam toolbox, fuse, ORB SLAM, LOAM, LIO-SAM robot localization etc</li></ul>
