Cisco's Sonic team seeks a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years' experience in L2/L3 networking protocols and distributed architecture.  Responsibilities include developing Sonic solutions, collaborating with product management, and focusing on automation using scripting languages and test frameworks.  The role involves ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and meet customer SLAs,  working with software data and control planes, and innovating with new technologies.  Experience with C, C++, Python, Linux user space,  networking technologies (VLAN, VXLAN, BGP, QoS), cloud-native solutions, virtualization, and container technologies is essential.

Who You Are: We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with 8+ Years of expertise around Network Protocols of layer 2, layer 3 and good exposure on distributed architecture. <ul><li>Good programming and problem-solving skills in C, C++ and knowledge of Python is plus</li><li>Hands on work experience working with software data and control plane software, Linux user space. </li><li>You must be comfortable with networking technologies such as L2, L3, VLAN, Port Channel, LAG, VXLAN, segment Routing, BGP, QoS, ACL etc. </li><li>You have a proven track record of designing and developing cloud native solutions and software products. </li><li>Experienced in Designing, modelling, multithreading and opensource tools and Databases (e.g. Redis). </li><li>Actively coding experience with virtualization and container technologies e.g. Docker. </li><li>Self-motivated and quick learner with excellent problem-solving skills, logical thinking and a hunger to learn new technologies. </li><li>Good teammate with good interpersonal skills. </li></ul>
Good to have: <ul><li>If you have worked on Sonic program earlier, it is a huge plus. </li><li>Good understanding of GitHub, Jira, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline tools. </li></ul>
