BKOM Studios is seeking a 3D Environment Artist to join their team. This role involves representing the artistic vision in creating game environments, including modeling 3D elements, vegetation, and terrain. The artist will integrate these elements into game levels, support PBR material creation, and collaborate with level design and technical artists to meet project expectations and artistic needs.
Must have:
  • Review art requests and ensure they are met in game levels
  • Model kitbatch of 3D environments, vegetation, terrain, and objects
  • Responsible for integration of 3D elements in game levels
  • Support creation of PBR materials for environmental objects
  • Collaborate with level design teams
  • Collaborate with technical artists to specify shaders and tools
  • Determine artistic needs of the project to meet expectations
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of ZBrush and Substance Designer

Job description

You are an artist and you want to be responsible for representing the artistic vision in the process of creating environments? Bkom Studios is currently looking for a 3D environment artist to join our great team.

  • Review art requests and ensure that they are met in the game levels;
  • Model the kitbatch of 3D environments, vegetation, terrain and objects in the game levels;
  • Responsible for the integration of 3D elements in the game levels;
  • Support the creation of PBR materials for environmental objects;
  • Collaborate with level design teams;
  • Collaborate with technical artists to specify shaders and tools;
  • Determine the artistic needs of the project to meet expectations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in game development with at least one game shipped as a 3D environment artist;
  • Proficiency in tools such as Maya, Blender and Substance Painter;
  • Experience creating environments in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity;
  • In-depth knowledge of artistic composition of environments;
  • Ability to estimate work time, manage priorities and meet deadlines;
  • Be creative and able to adapt to different game and artistic styles;
  • Creative and able to adapt to different styles of games and art;
  • Be aware of the evolution of the industry and is always looking for better work methods and tools to ensure a high quality production;
  • General knowledge of gameplay techniques and level design;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely;
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner; and Demonstrate autonomy and organizational skills;
  • Knowledge of ZBrush and Substance Designer is an asset.
