The Role


Dark Slope is hiring a 3D Modeler & Environment Artist with experience in Unreal Engine to join our crew of talented artists and animators working together to bring epic creatures and stunning environments to life in an interactive VR/MR experience.


If you are an artist capable of assembling immersive environments in engine with a good eye and understanding of the necessary elements for world-building, we’d love to hear from you!


Responsibilities:

  • Create levels and environments within design requirements
  • Work with the Art team to create high-quality 3D game assets
  • Follow the project's artistic direction set by the Art Director/Lead
  • Interpret and implement notes and feedback from the Art Director/Lead in a timely and qualitative manner
  • Adhere to specific pipelines and adapt to constraints; implement and maintain 3D game assets
  • Understand and adapt to the technical characteristics of VR devices
  • Perform any other related tasks to support successful project delivery


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience working as a 3D Modeler
  • Previous experience using Unreal Engine in a professional setting
  • Proficient in subdivision-modeling polygonal objects, using Maya, Zbrush, and/or art packages
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to understand and interpret 2D Designs in 3D
  • The ideal candidate would have strong practical and digital sculpting skills
  • Ability to communicate creatively and technically to your teammates
  • Familiarity with Autodesk ShotGrid is an asset
  • Strong 2D skills are an asset
