Job Description

This role as a Data Analyst at Informa TechTarget involves supporting TV and consumer device research. Key responsibilities include managing Omdia's Global TV set and Consumer Electronics research services, creating comprehensive market models by combining primary and secondary data, enhancing country-level data accuracy, and owning the end-to-end data lifecycle for TV set data deliverables. The role requires data modeling, solutions, and production of data deliverables based on client requirements, translating business needs into reports, and managing issue escalations. The analyst will also stay updated on emerging data technologies.
Must have:
  • Responsible for Omdia's Global TV set and Consumer Electronics research services.
  • Combine primary research findings with secondary data for market models.
  • Enhance country-level data accuracy using advanced methodologies.
  • Understand TV data process and terminology, own end-to-end data lifecycle.
  • Perform data modelling, solutions, and production of data deliverables.
  • Translate business requirements into reports and deliverable structures.
  • Manage issue escalations with minimum supervision.
  • Anticipate, detect, prevent, and manage risks impacting deliverables.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in data acquisition and analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant specializations (business, economics, statistics, etc.).
  • Four years+ experience in data modelling, analysis, cleaning, visualization, translation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerQuery.
  • Highly proficient in Python and libraries (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Beautiful Soup, pysftp, pyodbc).
  • Knowledge of file formats like Parquet, JSON, csv.
  • Good understanding of data management and metadata.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Good to have:
  • Master's Degree in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, commerce, or data science.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS S3, Lambda, Athena.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Experience and knowledge in relevant technology.

Job Description

This role is based in our 43 Residency Road office.

Key Responsibilities:

As Data Analyst you will support our TV and other consumer device research and will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Responsible for Omdia's Global TV set and Consumer Electronics research services, including quarterly data reports on vendor sell-in shipment performance.
  • Working closely with global TV analysts to combine primary research findings with secondary data sources to create comprehensive market models.
  • Enhance country-level data accuracy by developing advanced methodologies and incorporating additional data sources that effectively fill gaps through strategic triangulation techniques.
  • Understand the TV data process, and terminology, and own the end-to-end data lifecycle of TV set data deliverables.
  • Data modelling, solutions and production of data deliverables based on client requirements, by using logical and efficient algorithms that can be implemented.
  • Translate business requirements into reports and deliverable structures. Proficient in Model Documentation.
  • Effectively manage issue escalations, adopting appropriate escalation pathways with minimum supervision.
  • Anticipation, early detection, prevention, and management of risks and issues impacting deliverables and the research process.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies in data acquisition and analysis.

  • Quality and accuracy of market intelligence
  • Peer feedback and client satisfaction/retention

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree with a specialization in business, economics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, commerce and/or data science is preferred. Bachelor's degree in one of the above specializations is a must.
  • Prior experience of four years or more in data modelling and analysis, with experience in data cleaning, data visualization and data translation.
  • Extremely comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Power BI and PowerQuery.
  • Highly proficient in Python and libraries such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Beautiful Soup, pysftp and pyodbc and adequate knowledge of working with various file formats such as Parquet, JSON, csv.
  • Basic level knowledge of AWS S3, Lambda, Athena would be nice to have. Enough to navigate and make necessary minor changes to code that we have hosted online, if necessary.
  • Good understanding of data management and metadata.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Experience and knowledge in relevant technology are preferred.
