This Application Engineer role focuses on supply chain logistics, requiring web development expertise across the entire application lifecycle (requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and support). You'll lead development for both internal and customer-facing applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include writing modular code, evaluating vendor applications, building internal business applications, testing modules, translating business requirements into technical solutions, designing and running supply chain automation systems, and integrating with internal and third-party logistics systems.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working with Java.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related technical field.
  • Experience implementing, customizing and integrating third-party applications within, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, or similar industries.
  • Ability to participate in multiple full system implementation life cycles (i.e., analyze, design, build, test, implement, support).
  • Excellent people management, communication, and problem solving skills.

You lead all aspects of web development, requirements gathering, software development, testing, documentation, training, implementation, ongoing support, and maintenance for both in-house and customer-facing web applications. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of Googlers using UI and functional specs/prototypes as input. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write modular, well-structured, and self-sustaining codes, and develop overall systems design, research, and evaluate vendor supplied applications, and develop recommendations on those applications.
  • Help design, build, and deploy internal business applications to support Google’s technology life cycle, collaboration and spaces, service delivery management, and data and business intelligence.
  • Conduct and oversee testing of application modules to ensure application meets specifications and collaborate with analysts and business process owners within one or more teams to help translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop and run systems that automate Alphabet’s supply chain.
  • Integrate our systems with Alphabet’s internal systems and third-party logistics providers outside of Alphabet.
