Responsibilities: As an Art Director at LightSpeed Studios, you will oversee the visual development of a new and exciting game IP. Your role involves working closely with the Creative Director and core leadership team in defining and maintaining the artistic vision, ensuring it aligns with the game's overall creative direction and resonates with a global audience. This role requires spearheading a global art team, particularly focusing on collaboration with development units in China, Singapore, and other countries. Key Responsibilities: Define and execute the artistic vision and style of the game, ensuring a cohesive and immersive visual experience. Collaborate with the Creative Director and Narrative Director to ensure art complements and enhances the game’s narrative and gameplay. Build and lead a creative core art team. Also, mentor and inspire the broader team, promoting an environment that values creativity, professional growth, and diversity. Balance aesthetic goals with technical constraints in collaboration with technical teams. Supervise the production of all game art assets, including character designs, environments, UI, props, and visual effects. Maintain clear communication with the development team and stakeholders, ensuring alignment of artistic and project goals. Requirements: A degree in an art-related domain or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 7+ years of experience in game art or related fields, with a demonstrated history of leading art teams. In-depth knowledge and experience in creating art for open-world RPGs or similar genres. A strong portfolio demonstrating artistic talent and a keen eye for visual storytelling. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Open-minded and receptive to different cultures and ideas. Experience working with and leading teams from various countries around the world, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability. A strong appreciation for diverse perspectives and the ability to integrate these into the creative process. Experience with Unreal Engine. Location State(s) New York The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $122,040.0 to $254,880.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
