Want to work with an awesome team on an exciting next gen AAA FPS?

Even in these uncertain times, the awesome talent at Just Won't Die Games Studio is expanding! We’re looking for a highly-skilled, driven and deeply creative Associate Art Director to work on an exciting new and original IP for console and PC.  You will be a senior member of the leadership team helping to define, set and maintain a coherent art vision for the project as well as working with production to effectively plan art team delivery.

We’re looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, creative flair and the ability to convey the artistic vision to the team whilst understanding its impact on the development lifecycle. 

If you understand the importance of delivering and establishing an artistic vision that enhances and supports the creative direction, game design, product and marketing strategy, then we’d very much like to hear from you.

The ideal candidate would have good industry knowledge, game development experience and a passion for games. Whilst the position is based at our studio in Cambridge, UK, for the moment (at least) the whole team is fully embracing working remotely.

Skills & Requirements:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define, own, and champion a mature semi-realistic AAA vision

• Manage multidisciplinary art teams giving actionable constructive feedback

• Produce Art Direction visuals, pitches, guides and documentation

• Work with Production to plan and prioritise Art deliverables

• Facilitate and lead art reviews for internal and external teams

• Actively participate in the recruitment of project team members 

• Regularly update the leadership team on status and progress

eSSENTIAL rEQUIREMENTS:

• Portfolio demonstrating Art Direction capability

• End to end game development experience

• Working knowledge of modern game development workflows 

• Proven experience formulating and developing IP

• Strong leadership skills leading by example

• Willingness to adapt to an evolving environment

• A passion for playing and making games

• A highly positive and proactive work ethic

• Shipped at least one AAA title as an Art Director or Associate Art Director

• A creative eye and aesthetic judgement to help drive and critique visual quality

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills

BENEFICIAL SKILLS:

• Experience working on an FPS

• Familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of Unreal Engine

• Experience collaborating with 3rd parties in an outsource capacity

• Experience working on first person games
