As a Climate Data and Modelling Specialist in the Sustainability Department, you will play a crucial role in advancing our clients' sustainability initiatives, specifically within the field of climate. Key responsibilities include analysing local and global climate trends, using climate tools to collect, analyse and interpret complex climate-related data sets, and identifying climate-related risks and opportunities for clients to drive positive impact. You will be expected to identify the main climate change hazards at national level and their impacts on key economic sectors and at areas of high risk.

Responsibilities 

  • Analyse domestic and global trends in Sustainability that are relevant for making an impact in the client organization. 

  • Perform analysis using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that will be helpful in designing Sustainability strategies. 

  • Develop and maintain databases on Sustainability-related metrics - local and global. 

  • Apply data visualization techniques to generate data driven insights for clients. 

  • Research on sustainability and ESG-related topics for drawing fresh insights on market developments. 

  • Continuously contribute towards Sustainability related and data driven Thought Leaderships. 

  • Engage with clients and maintain strong business relationships. 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of or a combination of the following: Engineering, Climate Change, Environment Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Economics, Data Management 

  • A master’s degree is desirable 

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in field of climate change/ environment/ green economy finance  

  • Experience working with carbon markets, modelling tools, measurement reporting and verification, GHG inventories, climate transparency related tasks, data management, online data registries and public institutions in Mauritius would be an asset.
