The Opportunity
The newly created arm of the Commercial function sits within the overarching supply chain function of HPC and has been set up to lead a commercial centre of excellence, ensuring a world class service for the HPC project.
As a Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key role in a dynamic team focused on managing and optimising post-contract commercial activities. With over 70 contracts already secured, this is your opportunity to drive performance, ensure compliance, and deliver value across the UK’s energy future. You’ll take the lead on contract management, change control, supplier performance, and commercial risk mitigation—ensuring best practice is applied throughout the delivery phase of the commercial lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll take the lead on post-contract commercial management for contracts up to £100m, ensuring supplier performance aligns with contract terms and project objectives. From contract mobilisation to ongoing performance monitoring, variation management, and final account settlement, your role will help drive value and maintain robust commercial governance.
You’ll collaborate with legal, credit risk, and procurement teams to develop robust contracts and frameworks. You’ll also support the review of long-term service agreements and frameworks, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with EDF’s purchasing policies.
As a key member of the team, you’ll help embed a culture of continuous improvement, support knowledge transfer, and manage commercial assistants. Your work will directly contribute to the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of the HPC project.
Who You Are
You bring strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in managing post-contract activities within complex projects. You’re either a member of or working towards membership with CIPS or RICS.
You bring strong analytical and decision-making skills, with a solid understanding of contract performance, risk, and change management. Familiarity with NEC and FIDIC contracts, as well as knowledge of nuclear site licence conditions and UK regulatory frameworks, is desirable.

Additionally, you must meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which generally requires you to have been a UK resident for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
