Job Details

Who we are

For over 50 years, we have worked closely with investment and asset managers to become the world’s leading provider of integrated investment management solutions. We are 3,000+ colleagues with a broad range of nationalities, educations, professional experiences, ages, and backgrounds.

SimCorp is an independent subsidiary of the Deutsche Börse Group. Following the recent merger with Axioma, we leverage the combined strength of our brands to provide an industry-leading, full, front-to-back offering for our clients.

SimCorp is an equal-opportunity employer. We are committed to building a culture where diverse perspectives and expertise are integrated into our everyday work. We believe in the continual growth and development of our employees, so that we can provide best-in-class solutions to our clients

Why this role is important for us:

SimCorp is currently undergoing a process to further mature our compliance set-up, which brings more complex tasks across topics such as data privacy, AI and other regulatory compliance topics.

To ramp up our data protection team, we are now looking for a privacy professional in Poland, who is ready to join our growing Group Compliance and assist SimCorp in becoming even better at data protection.

As our new Compliance Counsel on the data protection topic, you will be working out of our office in Warsaw, and as part of our global Group Compliance team. The Compliance team focuses on developing and maintaining a robust framework for regulatory compliance and ensuring the organization stays compliant with applicable laws and regulations. The team is responsible for providing 2nd Line Compliance support, training and awareness and advice on a broad range of compliance topics.

What you will be responsible for:

As our new Compliance Counsel, you will work closely together with our Group Data Protection Officer to support and monitor the implementation of our data protection framework across SimCorp. In your role, you will work closely together with the 1st LoD, cross-functional teams, to support and advise them on data protection topics. Further, you will take on the role of local data protection coordinator in Poland, assisting in navigating the local privacy requirements and contact with local supervisory authorities.

As the compliance team collaborates closely across different topics, this role also offers a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with other compliance areas and how they overlap with data protection, including AI and IT Compliance etc.

- Supporting the 1st LoD teams in creating RoPA entries, risk assessments and other required documentation such as DPIAs, TIAs and LIAs

- Collaborate closely together with Vendor Management and Information Security to oversee data processors and perform data protection audits

- Supporting the rest of Data Protection in maintaining policies and procedures, and ensuring consistent application of those across the organisation through controls and 2nd LoD audits

- Provide advice to colleagues from all departments and levels of the organisation on data protection

- Facilitate trainings and build learning material in areas such as data protection and IT Compliance

- Support the Compliance team with third party inquiries, when necessary, ex. due diligence questionnaires, RFP’s and RFI’s.

What we value:

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest.

- Have a degree in law, commercial law or similar relevant education

- Have at least 3 years of experience with data protection and privacy

- Have good analytical skills with attention to details

- Exhibit proficient English communication skills in both oral and written forms

- Have a good understanding of data protection issues and risks, and are able to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of advice

Previous knowledge from tech or financial companies would be advantageous, but not a requirement.

To thrive in this position, it is important to have effective interpersonal skills and a good sense of humor.

Benefits :

Attractive salary and bonus scheme are essential for any work agreement. However, in SimCorp, we believe we can offer more. Therefore, in addition to the traditional benefit scheme, we provide an work & private life balance: a hybrid workplace model and extra days of vacation.
