Tesla's EMEA Energy team seeks an experienced Contract Manager to handle contracts for large-scale battery energy storage systems. Responsibilities include preparing, finalizing, and executing various contracts (purchase, sale, construction, service, software, warranty agreements), ensuring contract templates are updated and organized, collaborating with legal and other teams, driving process improvements, implementing software tools, and accurately capturing contract data. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, process-focused, and possess strong communication skills.

What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an experienced contracts specialist to join our EMEA Energy team, which will be responsible for contracting for Tesla’s large-scale battery energy storage systems. Working closely with sales, legal, operations, and engineering colleagues, your primary focus will be supporting the preparation, finalization and execution of contracts (purchase and sale agreements, construction agreements, services agreements, software agreements, and warranty documentation). You will also manage a variety of initiatives related to updating our contracting templates, tools, process, and documentation. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, process-focused, and inquisitive.

What You’ll Do

Own the compilation, review, and execution of complex contracts related to the sale, installation, operation, and maintenance of Tesla’s large-scale battery energy storage systems in EMEA. Perform quality checks of near-final contracts, coordinate internal approvals, and manage the signature routing / execution process
Ensure contract templates for EMEA are up-to-date and well-organized. Maintain template forms of agreements for various offerings and various countries. Collaborate with internal and external counsel to update contract templates based on country-specific requirements and lessons learned. Support efforts for standardization and simplification of contracts
Drive operational efficiencies in our contracting process through data-driven analysis and continued process improvement. Ensure contract management related processes are effective and well-documented
Support the development and implementation of software tools and processes that assist with contracting. Collaborate with global legal, operations, and software teams on the development of new contract management software tools and processes. Be the point person in the EMEA region for the implementation of these new global software tools and processes
Ensure contracts and key contract metadata are captured accurately, completely, and efficiently in Tesla’s systems
Assist with the generation of draft contracts before the start of contract negotiations

What You’ll Bring

4+ years of contracts management, paralegal, or comparable experience. Experience with construction agreements, equipment supply agreements, requests for proposals, and commercial bids is a plus
Highly detailed-oriented with an immaculate approach to process / document organization
Excellent command of Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with contract / content management software is a plus
Ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment
A quick and flexible learner, intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change. Experience with power generation and storage industry projects is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Proficiency in other languages is a plus
