TransUnion is seeking an Advisor, Data Strategy and Planning to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the quality, diversity, and impact of our credit data assets. This role will lead efforts to acquire and integrate new data types, support modernization through data migration into OneTru, and ensure compliance with data standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally, engage with non-traditional data furnishers, and champion best practices across global teams. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of data innovation, strategic planning, and cross-functional execution.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, economics, finance or related field.
  • 10+ years in big data (credit/non-credit), analysis, operations, regulatory environment.
  • Build relationships and interact with executives, product development, customers, sales.
  • Strong organizational, project management, problem solving, decision-making skills.
  • Display business acumen, judgment, leadership, analytic ability, communication skills.
  • Recommend and implement strategies for new data acquisition and integration.
  • Collaborate with Solutions teams on credit data strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Ensure compliance with core file data acceptability standards.
  • Engage non-traditional credit data furnishers for data acceptability and guidance.
  • Define, monitor, refine KPIs for non-traditional data quality and improvement.
  • Oversee data migration efforts into the OneTru platform.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and projects for strategic data outcomes.
  • Facilitate global forum for data strategy best practices, alternative data, OneTru migrations.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, economics, finance or a related field
  • 10+ years’ progressive experience in big data (credit and non-credit), including analysis, operations, and the regulatory environment
  • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively interact with executives, product development, customers, sales personnel and matrixed support functions
  • Solid organizational, project management, problem solving and decision-making skills with a high degree of comfort managing multiple assignments
  • Must display strong business acumen and judgment, leadership skills, analytic ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Impact You'll Make:

TransUnion is seeking an Advisor, Data Strategy and Planning to drive strategic initiatives that enhance the quality, diversity, and impact of our credit data assets. This role will lead efforts to acquire and integrate new data types, support modernization through data migration into OneTru, and ensure compliance with data standards. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally, engage with non-traditional data furnishers, and champion best practices across global teams. This is a high-visibility role at the intersection of data innovation, strategic planning, and cross-functional execution.

  • Recommend and implement strategies to acquire and integrate new and diverse data types, expanding the depth and breadth of TransUnion’s credit data.
  • Collaborate with Solutions teams to align credit data strategies with evolving product roadmaps and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with TransUnion’s core file data acceptability standards by identifying and addressing breaches by current data furnishers.
  • Engage with non-traditional credit data furnishers to assess product structures, determine data acceptability, and provide guidance on furnishing practices.
  • Define, monitor, and refine KPIs to measure the quality of non-traditional data and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee data migration efforts into the OneTru platform as part of key modernization initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and projects that span the DAM organization to drive strategic data outcomes.
  • Facilitate a global forum for sharing data strategy best practices, including strategies for alternative data and OneTru migrations.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
