Job Description

This Data Scientist role focuses on Google Cloud's managed infrastructure. Responsibilities include performing data analysis using SQL, R, and Python; reporting KPIs to leadership; translating analysis into business insights and product improvements; conducting feasibility analyses; identifying customer usage patterns; and providing quantitative perspectives to product owners. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a quantitative field and 3+ years of experience in statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying. Experience with cloud products and large datasets is highly preferred.

Must have:

Master's degree in quantitative field
3+ years statistical data analysis experience
SQL, R, Python proficiency
KPI reporting & analysis
Translate analysis to business insights

Good to have:

Experience with data pipelines
Experience in a complex organization
Experience with cloud products
Statistical skills (descriptive statistics, experiment design)

Minimum qualifications:

Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
3 years of experience with statistical data analysis, data mining, and querying (e.g., SQL).
1 year of experience managing analytical projects.

Preferred qualifications:

3 years of experience in scripting, statistical analysis (e.g., R, Stata, SPSS, SAS), developing and managing metrics, and evaluating programs/products.
1 year of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
Experience in developing data pipelines and working with large volumes of data
Experience with cloud products.
Excellent statistical skills, including descriptive statistics, experiment design, inference, statistical decision making.

Responsibilities

Perform analysis by utilizing relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python). Using comprehensive technical knowledge, use custom data infrastructure or existing data models.
Report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support business reviews with cross-functional/organizational leadership team. Translate analysis results to business insights or product improvement opportunities.
Provide analytical insights and recommendations to influence product feature development decisions, and with some guidance.
Conduct feasibility analyses with Software Engineers and Product Managers, you quantify estimated impact of a proposed product or feature on business and on fleet efficiency.
Identify patterns and analyze how existing products are used by our customers; you report unusual/creative behavior; you provide quantitative perspective to product owners.
