This role, Device QA Engineer II, involves building and executing test cases for Flock Safety devices, ensuring the functionality, performance, and usability of core applications, and contributing to a scalable manual test framework within the Quality & Automation organization.
Must have:
  • Assist in building and executing test cases for Flock Safety devices.
  • Evaluate QA processes and recommend improvements in workflows.
  • Write test cases to ensure high quality release delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues/defects.
  • Identify, report, and track defects using Jira, Confluence, and/or Testrail.
  • Participate in articulating Acceptance Criteria for features.
  • Conduct ad-hoc testing as necessary.
  • Conduct regression testing and verify bug fixes.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and strategies.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in software testing, preferably with Android OS, Apps, and devices.
  • Strong knowledge of Android or device (Hardware in the Loop) testing methods.
  • Strong knowledge of common black box software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Experience in testing hardware devices (both production and prototype).
  • Knowledge of Android Development tools such as Android Studios, and adb.
  • Ability to identify root causes for defects and provide meaningful feedback to development teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience with common QA tools such as Qase, Testrail, Jira and Confluence.
  • This is an onsite, full-time position based out of Atlanta HQ, working Monday through Friday.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for building and executing test cases to ensure the functionality, performance, and usability of our core apps on Flock Safety devices. You will work as part of the Quality & Automation organization and be tasked with helping to build a highly scalable and stable test framework for manual testing of Flock Safety products.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Assist in building and executing test cases to ensure functionality, performance, and usability of Flock Safety devices
  • Work as part of the QA organization to evaluate process and make recommendations for improvements in QA workflows
  • Assist in writing test cases to ensure high quality release delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that issues/defects are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Identify, report, and track defects to resolution using Jira, Confluence, and/or Testrail.
  • Participate in articulation of Acceptance Criteria for features being delivered per release.
  • Conduct ad-hoc testing as necessary.

  • Continuously improve testing processes and strategies to ensure high quality application delivery.

We're looking for people who:

  • Have 3+ years of professional experience in software testing, preferably with Android OS, Apps, and devices.
  • Have a strong knowledge of android or device (Hardware in the Loop) testing methods
  • Holds strong knowledge of common black box software testing methodologies, tools, and processes

Required Availability:

  • This is an onsite position based out of our ATL HQ. This is a full time position working Monday through Friday during standard business hours

Engineers should expect a technical assessment through coding interviews or architecture discussions. Your recruiter will provide more details to ensure you are fully prepared for your big day.

4. The Executive Review: A chance to meet a leader within the Device Software team. They will be looking to get to know you better, understand your motivations, and understand your technical background. Be prepared to ask well-thought-out questions about the company, culture, and more.

Salary & Equity

In this role, you’ll receive a starting salary of $89,600-$123,200 as well as stock options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in-depth with you during our first chat.
