Databricks Australia is seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead its fast-growing Enterprise business in Australia. This role involves securing net new business with Australia’s largest commercial organizations, leading a team of Account Executives in Sydney and Melbourne. The successful candidate will drive sales targets, develop strategic acquisition plans, build executive-level relationships, and enable their team to effectively communicate Databricks’ value proposition, translating technical products to business value for the C-Suite.
Must have:
  • 5+ years high-growth technology leadership experience
  • Direct experience leading a ‘new business’ sales team
  • Experience translating highly technical products to C-Suite business value
  • Experience positioning big data, analytics, or AI/ML solutions
  • Proven record of executing against personal and team goals
  • Ability to lead, inspire, develop, empower, and coach Enterprise Account Executives
  • Ability to coach sales fundamentals: prospecting, forecasting, negotiation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including C-Suite presentations
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Bachelor's degree

Job Details

Databricks Australia is looking for an experienced Sales Director to join its fast-growing Enterprise business in Australia. You will be responsible for leading the team responsible for securing net new business with some of Australia’s largest commercial organisations. The team is made up of motivated, capable and coachable Account Executives in Sydney and Melbourne.

We are looking for someone with proven experience building and leading successful ‘new business’ teams to develop and execute a scaled customer acquisition strategy. The successful candidate will have demonstrable market presence, a proven ability to inspire and motivate high-performing teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The impact you will have:

  • Drive Success: Own and exceed your teams quarterly/annual sales targets
  • Build and Implement Strategic Plans: Develop and execute customer acquisition plans and engagement tactics
  • Create Trust-Based Relationships: Develop long-term, executive-level relationships with customers and partners
  • Manage the Front-Line Voice of Databricks: Lead your team to effectively communicate Databricks’ value proposition through customer interactions, presentations and proposal submissions
  • Distill Customer Needs and Value: Enable your team to understand their customer’s commercial goals and how they relate to the Databricks value proposition

What we look for:

  • Experienced (5+ years) high-growth technology leader with direct experience leading a ‘new business’ sales team
  • Experience translating a highly technical product to business value for the C-Suite.
  • Experience positioning big data, analytics or AI/ML solutions
  • Proven record of successfully executing against personal and team goals while always searching for improvement
  • Proven ability to successfully lead, inspire, develop, empower and coach a team of Enterprise Account Executives
  • Ability to coach and develop sales fundamentals to Account Executives including prospecting, forecasting, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to the C-Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support a team in multiple geographies.
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degrees a plus.
