Job Description

The Global Head of Creative Strategy will lead Reddit’s global KarmaLab team, a creative organization focused on driving revenue for the company. This role involves inspiring a team of strategists, storytellers, and problem-solvers to help advertisers achieve their goals on the platform. Responsibilities include developing creative advertising campaigns, collaborating with internal and external teams, and advancing systems and tools for advertising growth. The role requires representing Reddit at industry events, managing budgets, and attracting top talent. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with strong communication skills, experience in digital marketing, and a deep understanding of the advertising landscape. The role also includes developing and leading a global team of revenue-accelerating creative strategists, scaling creative strategy services via AI and automation, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to advance Reddit’s ads business.

TL;DR - We’re looking for a creative visionary and operator to lead Reddit’s global KarmaLab team within Reddit’s Global Client Solutions organization. 

What on earth is KarmaLab? Great question. Reddit’s KarmaLab is a creative organization that acts as a revenue-driving engine for the company. We are a conduit between brands and Reddit culture, helping advertisers understand how to show up on the platform to effectively achieve their goals.  

We’re looking for a proven leader who can inspire a team of problem solvers, storytellers, and strategists who work in support of Reddit’s mission to empower global advertisers to generate ROI for their businesses while adding value to the Reddit community. 

The Global Head of Creative Strategy will motivate both the internal KarmaLab team and an external network of creative and media buying decision-makers to harness the power of Reddit culture, maximizing revenue impact, while making ideas worth talking about–on Reddit and beyond. 

This role is an opportunity to lead and develop a global team of revenue-accelerating creative strategists, scale creative strategy services via AI and automation, and collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance Reddit’s ads business. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Influence, coach, and support a team of global Creative Strategists as they develop vertical and account-level strategies and best-in-class creative advertising campaigns that deliver business results for Reddit’s global advertising partners 
  • Collaborate closely with peers (Marketing Sciences, Sales Enablement and Product Adoption), Insights, Sales, and Marketing to harness the power of Reddit to enable and equip our sales teams, advertisers, and partners to succeed
  • Advance and innnovate systems, tools, and technology,  to drive impact across multiple sales channels and verticals, while building for the next 5-10 years of Reddit’s advertising growth 
  • Represent Reddit at large client/agency industry events with executive presence and an ability to influence both new and existing advertisers 
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales Managers and balance competing priorities to drive the business forward, while measuring and merchandising global impact 
  • Partner with other XFN stakeholders, including  Product Marketing, Global Customer Marketing, Communications and Global Insights to advance Reddit’s position as the leader in contextual and interest based targeted advertising 
  • Inspire industry-leading creative work across an array of business verticals 
  • Attract, retain, and develop world-class talent

Minimum qualifications:  

    • 12+ years in digital marketing, with a focus on creative strategy
    • 5+ years of management experience, including experience leading large, layered teams (you have managed people managers)
    • Experience influencing and motivating teams and/or organizations to rally behind and deliver against key objectives and results in a sales-driven environment; memorializes and communicates the value creative strategy teams deliver to internal stakeholders      
    • Core understanding of the relationship between creative agencies, media agencies & brands
    • Global, forward-looking mindset, preferably with experience leading global teams
    • An appreciation of the intersection of technology and creativity, along with AI’s capacity to drive productivity 
    • Understanding and respect for what motivates advertisers to engage with Reddit’s unique offering
    • Executive presence, adept at engaging with C-Level stakeholders and leading presentations for industry-facing thought leadership
    • Strong knowledge of Brand Strategy, Performance Media, D2C, or Challenger Brand Marketing best practices        
    • Expert interpersonal skills, ability to inspire, motivate, and align a diverse set of stakeholders toward a common goal
    • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, ability to bridge the human and data side of creativity to show client value
    • A clear management philosophy that is suited for leading and developing careers of creative teams
    • Deep knowledge of Reddit, its language, and communities is a huge plus
