Job Description

As Director of Modular & Space Execution at Walmart, you will lead teams to translate assortment strategy into high-quality, timely execution for new stores, remodels, relays, and in-season updates. This role focuses on localizing at scale by aligning insights, people, and tools to ensure the right product is in the right space at the right time. Key responsibilities include overseeing modular reset workflows, operationalizing localization, managing complex reset calendars, optimizing workload planning, bridging strategy with execution, and driving process excellence to improve shelf accuracy and reduce defects.
Must have:
  • Oversee modular reset and execution workflows, including end-to-end planning, draw management, ticketing, and store execution across formats and programs.
  • Partner with Assortment Analytics and Space Insights to translate trait-based plans into executable floorplans and modulars that reflect customer needs by store.
  • Build and maintain sequencing for relays, remodels, and new store activations—ensuring clear timing, ownership, and accountability across partner teams.
  • Design and oversee workload balancing models to enable reset teams to execute with quality and efficiency. Own prioritization of modular and space work by business need.
  • Ensure cross-functional plans—spanning merchandising, store operations, construction, and planning—land with clarity and accuracy in physical store execution.
  • Standardize execution playbooks, improve system workflows, and identify tools and tech opportunities to scale execution quality and reduce manual lift.

As Director of Modular & Space Execution, you’ll lead the teams responsible for translating assortment strategy into high-quality, timely execution across new stores, remodels, relays, and in-season updates. Your role is at the heart of how we localize at scale—by aligning insights, people, and tools to ensure the right product lands in the right space at the right time.

What you'll do:

  • Lead Modular Execution and Activation:

Oversee modular reset and execution workflows, including end-to-end planning, draw management, ticketing, and store execution across formats and programs.

  • Operationalize Localization:

Partner with Assortment Analytics and Space Insights to translate trait-based plans into executable floorplans and modulars that reflect customer needs by store.

  • Manage Complex Reset Calendars:

Build and maintain sequencing for relays, remodels, and new store activations—ensuring clear timing, ownership, and accountability across partner teams.

  • Optimize Workload Planning:

Design and oversee workload balancing models to enable reset teams to execute with quality and efficiency. Own prioritization of modular and space work by business need.

  • Bridge Strategy & Execution:

Ensure cross-functional plans—spanning merchandising, store operations, construction, and planning—land with clarity and accuracy in physical store execution.

  • Drive Process Excellence:

Standardize execution playbooks, improve system workflows, and identify tools and tech opportunities to scale execution quality and reduce manual lift.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Delivering localized execution that improves shelf accuracy, speed to change, and customer relevance
  • Reducing execution defects and Ops ticket volume by aligning planning upstream
  • Scaling modular strategy through stronger coordination, calendar discipline, and team accountability
  • Strengthening the bridge between insights and execution to enable test-and-learn agility and faster rollouts

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to a specific plan or program terms.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
