As an Economist on the Education Professional Services team, you will be responsible for producing innovative datasets, data models, visualizations, and reports that answer our Education clients’ most pressing problems around training the future workforce and the return on investment of higher education. Your expertise will be instrumental in helping institutions make informed decisions, navigate economic challenges, and optimize strategies.
Major Responsibilities
- Lead client projects by conducting quantitative and economic analyses using data and other sources to research, model, and recommend actionable solutions for colleges and universities.
- Collect, organize, and analyze financial, economic, and market data to assess industry trends, competition, and policy impacts on higher education institutions.
- Develop and deliver analytical datasets, reports, and visualizations that provide insights into workforce alignment, program value, and return on investment in education.
- Translate complex findings into clear, digestible insights for diverse audiences, ensuring clients can make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Document methodologies, maintain high standards of accuracy, and demonstrate strong attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, consistently meeting milestones and deadlines through effective time management and prioritization.
- Collaborate with internal teams while working independently, contributing to a positive team culture and supporting colleagues.
- Apply economic theory, statistical techniques, and technical expertise (Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, Python preferred) to solve complex client problems and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Stay current with economic developments, policy changes, and emerging data sources to continuously enhance client insights and recommendations.
Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree and/or 2+ years of experience or education in Economics or a field with a quantitative and analytic focus.
- Experience making data-driven decisions, preferably for higher education institutions, preferred.
