Electrical Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities
  • Serve as an onsite technical resource of electrical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation.
  • Ensure appropriate cross-functional collaboration between local electrical team and applicable local and global teams.
  • Contribute to electrical safety program for site.
  • Plan resource, author or approve work procedures to cover electrical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk.
  • Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Oversee electrical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems are in compliance with best practices, including change control processes.
  • Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity.
  • Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in area of expertise.
  • Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross functional teams on electrical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes.
  • Manage vendor relationships for electrical maintenance and retrofit work.
  • Provide feedback on global electrical maintenance strategies and global electrical system design improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • Experience must include 5 years of experience in the following:
  • 1. Critical environments - familiarity with high-stakes settings where system downtime can lead to significant financial loss or even endanger human lives (Examples: Data Centers, Hospitals, Oil & Gas)
  • 2. Knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
  • 3. Comprehending electrical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings
  • 4. Working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment - adept at working within an interdisciplinary, collaborative environment encompassing various disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, chemical and controls engineering while engaging with diverse stakeholders
  • 5. Theoretical and practical understanding of power equipment & systems, with expertise in electrical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
  • 6. Working knowledge of mechanical, controls, and fire and life safety systems
  • 7. Interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.
