Must have:
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry.
  • 3+ years as a Manager, Team Management.
  • Strong technical knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, Java.
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools.

Job Summary:

Lead the recruitment process for the software engineering team, including identifying staffing needs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions to attract top talent and build a diverse and high-performing team.

Facilitate the onboarding process for new team members, ensuring they receive the necessary training, resources, and support to integrate smoothly into the team and contribute effectively to project deliverables.

Allocate resources effectively across projects and initiatives, balancing workload and priorities to optimize team productivity, utilization, and project delivery timelines.

Monitor project progress and resource availability, identifying potential bottlenecks or resource constraints and implementing proactive measures to address issues and maintain project momentum.

Define performance goals and expectations for team members, providing regular feedback, coaching, and guidance to support their professional development and career growth.

Implement initiatives to recognize and reward team members for their contributions, achievements, and milestones, fostering a culture of appreciation, motivation, and engagement within the team.

Your Role:

Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between the software engineering team and stakeholders, including project sponsors, clients, and other internal and external partners, ensuring clear communication, alignment of expectations, and proactive resolution of issues or conflicts.

Ensure team members are proficient in relevant tools and platforms, such as JIRA, Workday, Microsoft Teams, and other software development and collaboration tools, providing training, guidance, and support as needed to maximize team productivity and effectiveness in project execution.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support to team members, helping them set and achieve career goals, develop new skills, and overcome challenges or obstacles in their professional growth and advancement.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and objectives, and provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables, fostering transparency, trust, and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Establish skills for coScrum/Agile roles – identify the key skills required for each of the roles needed within the team, together with their level. Make sure that the skill gaps are immediately addressed through appropriate formal and on-the-job training, internal transfers or external hiring activities.

  • Plan and control the outcome quality and the schedule for all allocated project(s) (or Ensure that the team is organized to meet the project targets from quality and schedule perspective) 

  • Manage the engineering  team in term of  planning , executing , adjusting to changed situation in the project. 

  • Monitor project execution progress , adjust when needed, e.g. metrics, key performance indicators. 

  • Committed to project execution and drive solutions 

  • Be active participant of the customer communication which  includes at the customer site presence (when required) 

  • Provide input to staffing planning, which would be based on the knowledge of business requirements, newly won contracts, product roadmap, as well as deep understanding of current staffing levels, skillsets, and existing retention risks  

  • Have a deep understanding of team’s work by staying close to the people and their activities, as well as through development of visual performance & quality metrics 

  • Continuously remove impediments that are blocking team performance 

  • Drive Competency Excellence by fostering the culture of pursuing perfection  

  • Build Quality Into Practices – support the quality through appropriate infrastructure & resources 

  • Ensure team’s compliance with company processes and standards 

  • Plan, monitor and control capabilities of teams 

  • Evaluating & managing people performance 

  • Rewarding & promoting team members according to their contributions 

  • Preparing and participating in periodic Talent Review Sessions which are aimed at aligning the development opportunities on broader departmental level, and through that securing succession to key roles within Engineering 

  • Manage Budget & Capital Planning 

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in engineering discipline (electrical, systems, computer science, software, computer or related field of study)

  • +7 years of Experience in Automotive Industry, +3 years as Manager, Team Management.

  • Experience working in the automotive industry, particularly in embedded systems, automotive software platforms, or similar fields, is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams, delivering software projects on time and within budget.

  • Strong technical knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and methodologies.

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java, or similar, with experience in automotive embedded systems a plus.

  • Experience with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and automotive development standards (e.g., ISO 26262, AUTOSAR).

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and testing frameworks.
