Job Description

Teyon is seeking an Environment Artist for a new action RPG game for PC and console, developed by the team behind Terminator: Resistance and RoboCop: Rogue City. The role involves creating high-quality 3D environments, props, and assets in a photorealistic style, collaborating with lead and design teams, and optimizing assets for various game platforms. The artist will also develop efficient art pipelines and troubleshoot technical issues.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge of architectural visualization software and techniques.
  • Proficiency in creating procedural textures and materials.
  • Knowledge of 3D scanning and photogrammetry workflows.
  • Knowledge of game optimization techniques.
  • Experience with Cinematography.
  • Proficiency in shader programming (e.g., HLSL or GLSL).
  • Familiarity with terrain generation tools and plugins.
  • Familiarity with physically-based simulation for environmental effects (e.g., fluid dynamics, cloth simulation).
  • ZBrush sculpting, including high-poly and low-poly retopology.
Must Have:
  • Independently create high-quality 3D environments, props, and assets.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead and design teams to understand artistic and gameplay requirements.
  • Model, texture, and optimize 3D assets for various game platforms.
  • Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines and workflows.
  • Create detailed and visually appealing environments that align with the game's artistic direction.
  • Collaborate with technical artists to implement and optimize assets in the game engine.
  • Troubleshoot and solve art-related technical issues.
  • Keep up to date with industry-standard software and techniques.
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software (e.g., Blender, Maya, Substance Painter, Substance Designer).
  • Strong understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) principles and material creation.
  • Experience with mid-poly asset workflow.
  • Experience with sculpting and high-poly to low-poly asset workflow.
  • Knowledge of texturing using trims.
  • Ability to create and optimize assets for various platforms and hardware specifications.
  • Advanced skills in environmental design, composition, and storytelling through environments.
  • Up-to-date knowledge about Unreal Engine 5 features.
  • Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Teyon is an experienced development studio with numerous titles to its credit. We have over 150 employees, and apart from Kraków, we are also located in Łódź, Warsaw, and even Tokyo.

Teyon is looking for talented people who will support us with their skills, knowledge, and ideas for our upcoming project. This new action RPG game for PC and console will be developed by the team responsible for our previous titles Terminator: Resistance, RoboCop: Rogue City, and RoboCop: Rogue City - Unfinished Business.

We are looking for someone who will support us in creating the environment and its elements in a photorealistic style.

Duties

  • Independently create high-quality 3D environments, props, and assets.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead and design teams to understand artistic and gameplay requirements.
