Feature Designer

We are looking for a Feature Designer to join our game development team and contribute to the background and foreground systems that drive the player experience. As a Feature Designer, you will identify, plan, and facilitate creation of gameplay systems and features to create a cohesive and highly coherent player experience. Responsibilities include determining and documenting gameplay systems, anticipating cross-team dependencies, planning their iterative development with engineers, and overseeing feature development in coordination with other teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can approach problems with an engineering mindset, and can design towards an efficient and cohesive gameplay experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive development of game systems to meet overall Design targets
  • Document design intent for individual features
  • Coordinate closely with engineers to plan and implement Features
  • Assist the UI/UX team to develop streamlined user experiences
  • Anticipate and communicate dependencies, edge cases, and potential blockers
  • Identify, recommend, and validate new features to meet Design and Creative goals
  • Communicate across teams to ensure Features are developed to appropriate levels of fidelity
  • Propose new strategies and systemic concepts based on technical understanding of existing gameplay systems

Requirements:

  • Position level commensurate with total experience
  • Minimum 4 years Game Design experience with a focus on Systems; may be supplemented with Engineering experience
  • Strong, demonstrated technical communication skills for design and implementation planning
  • Proficiency in Unity or similar game development tools is a plus
  • Proficiency with UI/UX flows and principles is a plus

Base Salary Range: $81,000 - $123,000 The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
