We’re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Reporting and Compliance function, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of key financial processes, including month-end accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations, compliance reporting, and support for statutory audits.

In this role, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of essential finance activities, helping you develop deep expertise across accounting, compliance, and reporting. You’ll work closely with experienced finance professionals, contributing to process improvements and supporting the business with timely, accurate financial information. We have offices expanding across multiple locations in New Zealand and Australia. This is a full time role based in our Brisbane office.

Your day-to-day...

• Process month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and general ledger adjustments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and capitalise assets in line with company policies.
• Manage leased assets and related accounting in accordance with AASB 16 requirements.
• Prepare and reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions, to ensure accuracy.
• Support compliance reporting requirements, including BAS, withholding tax, ABS surveys, and Fringe Benefits Tax returns.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and accounting for novated leases.
• Assist the Head of Finance and Senior Financial Accountant with statutory audit queries, ad-hoc requests, and financial analysis.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis on business activities to support decision-making.
• Contribute to process improvements and support a high standard of financial accuracy across the finance team.

You're a match if you have…

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed CA or CPA accreditation.
• Experience in accounting or financial accounting roles, including journal processing and account reconciliations.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, report building, complex formulas, formatting, and data validation.
• Experienced with large ERP systems, ensuring accurate and efficient financial processes.
• Proactive and adaptable, with a strong ability to identify process improvements and take ownership of tasks.
• Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across functions and support shared goals.
• Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in financial reporting and data management.
• Driven to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
