Summary

As a Firmware Engineer, you'll contribute to a critical Google Pixel project, with opportunities for growth. You'll manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions for Pixel power management and optimization. Responsibilities include developing software/firmware for the Pixel (Android) Kernel, prioritizing power, latency, and system stability optimization, debugging power issues, and developing test suites to detect regressions. This role demands strong software development skills, experience with embedded systems, and a passion for optimizing power consumption in mobile devices.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related field
  • 2 years software development experience
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Develop and support power management software
  • Lead design, development, and support for power optimization
  • Debug and triage power issues
  • Develop test-suits to detect power regression
Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD in Engineering/Computer Science
  • Experience with embedded operating systems
  • Experience with power management of embedded mobile devices
  • Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  • Experience with power management of embedded mobile devices.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
