This senior-level Forward Deployed Engineer role at Salesforce involves leading complex AI agentic deployments. The engineer will design, develop, and implement bespoke AI solutions leveraging the Agentforce platform and other cutting-edge technologies. This hands-on role requires deep technical mastery, problem-solving prowess, and a focus on delivering tangible value from concept to optimization, acting as a strategic partner to clients and mentoring junior peers.
Must have:
  • Lead end-to-end technical delivery of complex AI solutions.
  • Design and implement scalable production systems, including AI/LLM agents on Salesforce.
  • Develop custom intelligent agents using the Agentforce platform.
  • Manage data lifecycle: modeling, processing, integration, and analytics.
  • Resolve complex technical challenges and unblock progress.
  • Become an expert in Agentforce, influencing product enhancements.
  • Act as a trusted strategic partner to clients, translating needs into solutions.
  • Perform deep-dive technical debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Lead rapid prototyping and enforce engineering best practices.
  • 5+ years experience in hands-on, end-to-end delivery.
  • Expert proficiency in JavaScript, Java, Python, or Apex.
  • Extensive experience with AI/LLM technologies and frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
  • Deep expertise in data platforms like Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake.
  • Fluency in Japanese (written and verbal).
Good to have:
  • Experience developing conversational AI solutions in regulated industries.
  • Expert-level Apex and/or Python coding experience.
  • Prior experience as a customer-facing technical lead or architect.
  • Advanced Salesforce platform certifications (e.g., Platform Developer II).
  • Deep knowledge across Salesforce CRM (Service, Sales, Marketing Clouds).
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce Flows and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
  • Experience contributing to open-source AI frameworks or libraries.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly accomplished and senior-level Forward Deployed Engineer with 5+ years of experience to lead the charge on complex AI agentic deployments. This role demands a seasoned technologist and strategic partner who can not only design and develop bespoke solutions leveraging our Agentforce platform and other cutting-edge technologies but also lead technical engagements and mentor junior peers. You'll be the primary driver of transformative AI solutions, operating with deep technical mastery, unparalleled problem-solving prowess, and a relentless focus on delivering tangible value in dynamic, real-world environments, from initial concept to successful deployment and ongoing optimization.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of bringing cutting-edge AI solutions to our most strategic clients. This isn't just about coding; it's about deeply understanding our customers' most complex problems, architecting sophisticated solutions, and leading the end-to-end technical delivery of innovative, impactful solutions that leverage our Agentforce platform and beyond. You'll be a hands-on leader, shaping technical strategy and ensuring successful outcomes.

Your Impact

  • Drive Tangible Outcomes through Hands-On Implementation: Be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex AI solutions, personally writing critical code, configuring systems, and troubleshooting issues, while also guiding and reviewing the work of junior team members to ensure successful deployment and measurable business impact.
  • Build Transformative AI Solutions: Take primary ownership of designing, developing, and personally implementing high-quality, scalable production systems. A significant part of this will involve architecting and deploying complex AI and Large Language Model (LLM) based intelligent agents and automated workflows, all built on top of the Salesforce platform.
  • Engineer Bespoke Agentic AI Solutions: Work directly with customers to design and build custom intelligent agents using the Agentforce platform, ensuring they precisely meet unique business requirements and integrate seamlessly with existing customer ecosystems.
  • Data Configuration & Integration : Own the entire data lifecycle, from strategic design of data models to hands-on building of efficient processing pipelines and establishing seamless integration strategies. You'll ensure data is always ready, optimized, and secure for our advanced AI applications, often navigating complex enterprise data environments.
  • Proactively Remove Technical Blockers: Identify, analyze, and directly resolve the most complex technical challenges during all phases of solution delivery, from intricate data integration to sophisticated model deployment and advanced agent orchestration. You'll be the ultimate go-to expert for unblocking progress.
  • Drive Agentforce Innovation: Become a foremost expert in our innovative Agentforce platform, pushing its capabilities to the limit. You'll lead the development of bespoke intelligent agents, automate intricate business processes, and craft intuitive user experiences. Your insights from the field will directly influence future product enhancements and help shape the strategic direction of our platform, often representing the voice of the customer in product discussions.
  • Become a Trusted Strategic Partner: Embed yourself deeply with client teams to truly grasp their operational challenges and strategic goals. You'll translate these nuanced needs into clear, actionable technical requirements and solution designs, building strong relationships as their primary technical advisor and leading technical discussions.
  • Conduct Deep-Dive Technical Debugging and Root Cause Analysis: Perform detailed analysis, debugging, and root cause identification for complex system interactions, data flows, and AI model behaviors to optimize performance, ensure reliability, and prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Lead Rapid Prototyping and Iteration: Quickly develop proofs-of-concept and minimum viable products, often coding alongside client teams to demonstrate capabilities and gather feedback for iterative refinement, setting the pace for rapid delivery.
  • Implement and Enforce Best Practices: Directly apply and evangelize engineering best practices for code quality, scalability, security, and maintainability across all deployed solutions, serving as a technical role model.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a hands-on, end-to-end delivery role for high-quality, scalable production solutions in a professional environment
  • Strong background in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline
  • Expert-level proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Java, Python, Apex)
  • Extensive hands-on experience building and deploying solutions with AI/LLM technologies, including integrating LLMs, applying advanced AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex), prompt engineering techniques, and experience with agentic frameworks
  • Deep expertise in data modeling, processing, integration, and analytics, with demonstrable proficiency in enterprise data platforms (e.g., Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery)
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurship, a "get-things-done" attitude, and a focus on fast, impactful delivery, with a proven ability to lead technical initiatives
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead technical engagements, mentor junior team members, and oversee technical aspects of projects
  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time, as needed to customer sites
  • Fluency in Japanese (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and deploying conversational AI solutions within highly regulated industries
  • Expert-level experience with Apex and/or Python coding languages in a professional setting
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing, hands-on technical lead or architect role
  • Advanced Salesforce platform certifications (e.g., Platform Developer II, Application Architect, System Architect)
