Job Description

Luxoft is seeking an enthusiastic Fullstack Scala Developer to join a development team within a large Tier One Bank. This role involves building banking systems, working closely with senior engineers to find optimal technical solutions, and performing Scala development. Key responsibilities include using Nexus repository software, managing ticketing systems, reporting metrics, and driving continuous improvement themes like automation. The developer will also focus on enhancing developer experience, promoting best practices, troubleshooting production issues, and expanding their Scala/Java knowledge.

Good To Have:

Experience with Akka actor system.
Knowledge of HTTP stack and building REST APIs.
Functional programming with Cats or ScalaZ.
Experience with ScalaTest and BDD.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration & Deployment practices.
Open-minded and able to quickly learn new technologies.
Experience with Kafka or other distributed messaging systems.
Knowledge of distributed environments and multi-threading.
Experience in profiling and application tuning.
Familiarity with build tools like Gradle.
Experience with Yaml, Json, and Xml (Xsd).
Experience with Unix shell and CLI tools.
Knowledge of search engines (e.g., Solr, ElasticSearch) and related topics (queries, indexing).

Must Have:

Work closely with senior engineers for technical solutions.
Scala development for banking solutions.
Experience with Nexus repository software.
Manage ticketing system with varying priorities.
Report key metrics.
Develop continuous improvement themes (automation, whitelisting) post go-live.
Improve developer experience and promote best practices.
Troubleshoot production/infrastructure issues.
Expand Scala/Java knowledge.
6+ years building back-end systems.
4+ years developing in Scala or other functional programming language.
Proficiency in Java, JS, React.
Experience with TDD.
Proficiency in Git or Mercurial.
Banking experience.
