Job Description

As a Gameplay Animator at Envar Studios, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, stylized keyframe animations that enhance gameplay and immerse players in the world of their open-world survival game. You'll collaborate with artists, programmers, and designers to shape character motion, develop animation systems, and establish best practices. The role is in-house in Stockholm, Sweden. Responsibilities include developing keyframe animations, collaborating with engineers and designers on animation systems, and addressing animation-related challenges across multiple departments. The studio emphasizes a relaxed, fun, and supportive environment.

Good To Have:

Knowledge of rigging and skinning.
Experience with Unreal Engine.
Experience with survival or multiplayer games.

Must Have:

Create keyframe animations for characters and creatures.
Strong animation fundamentals and expertise in movement.
Fluent in Maya for animation workflows.

As we expand, we are looking for a Gameplay Animator to help bring our characters and creatures to life through dynamic, expressive animation.

Your Role

As a Gameplay Animator, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, stylized keyframe animations that enhance gameplay and immerse players in our world. You will work closely with artists, programmers, designers, and other departments to shape character motion, develop animation systems, and establish best practices for the team.

This is an in-house position based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Key Responsibilities

Create Stylized Animations: Develop high-quality keyframe animations for creatures and characters in a third-person action game.
Collaborate Across Departments: Work with engineers and designers to develop gameplay animation systems and mechanics.
Technical Problem-Solving: Address animation-related challenges across multiple departments.

Required Qualifications

Industry Experience or Relevant Education: You’re ready to hit the ground running and begin creating and have experience making games either professionally or as a student or hobbyist.
Strong Animation Fundamentals: Expertise in human and creature movement with a keen eye for detail.
Technical Knowledge: Fluent in Maya

Bonus Points

Technical Animation Skills: Knowledge of rigging, skinning, and technical animation workflows.
Unreal Engine Expertise: Strong experience working with Animation Blueprints and state machines in UE5.
Survival or Multiplayer Game Experience: Familiarity with animation challenges in open-world survival or multiplayer games.
