Lead Animation Outsourcing

As Lead Animation Outsourcing, your mission is to ensure the integration of external animation resources into the creative pipeline. You are responsible for maintaining high standards of animation quality while fostering strong collaborative relationships with outsourcing studios.

This position requires a clear understanding of the animation team's outsourcing needs, including creating detailed briefs and task breakdowns, reviewing and providing feedback on outsourced work, as well as efficiently managing and delivering resources to internal animation team members. Through structured communication, technical guidance, and creative leadership, you will empower partners to produce captivating and emotional animations, in line with the project's narrative vision.

Missions

• Outsourcing Strategy and Coordination
• Define and communicate outsourcing needs based on project scope and internal capabilities.
• Create clear and comprehensive briefs and task breakdowns for outsourcing studios.
• Coordinate schedules, deliveries, and feedback loops to ensure timely and efficient production.
• Proactively research, identify, and contact potential outsourcing providers who meet project requirements and artistic standards.
• Quality Control and Feedback
• Verify the quality, consistency, and adherence to style guides of outsourced animation resources.
• Provide actionable feedback to vendors and ensure revisions are effectively implemented.
• Maintain up-to-date animation references and documentation for external teams.
• Resource Management
• Oversee the organization, tracking, and delivery of animation resources to internal team members.
• Ensure proper integration of outsourced resources into the animation pipeline.
• Collaborate with production and technical teams to manage file formats, naming conventions, and version control.
• Communication and Collaboration
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external animation partners.
• Facilitate regular check-ins and reviews with vendors to track progress and address challenges.
• Work closely with the Animation Director and other department heads to align outsourced work with the overall creative vision.

Profile

• More than 5 years of experience in animation production, including at least 2 years in a leadership or outsourcing role.
• Excellent understanding of animation principles, character acting, and storytelling.
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation tools (e.g., Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender).
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
• Experience working with international vendors and managing intercultural teams.
• Proficiency in French and English.
• Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity).
• Experience in cinematic animation and video game animation.
• Experience in realistic animation and cartoon animation.
• Knowledge of production tracking tools (e.g., ShotGrid, Jira) and version control systems.
